BS CREATED SO FAR

The common mistake of all seduction schools is that they oversimplify the subject. Some guys start to believe that for example sense of humor combined with self-confidence will enable them to have ANY woman! Sure! Why not? Quit your day job, get a weekend job in a bar, and spend the rest of your time practicing your “cocky and funny” attitude. If overweight unemployed Joe picks up “solid 9s” on a regular basis, you can too! It’s just like with a book that would say that hard work, some luck, and a good business idea will make you rich on the long run. It’s common knowledge, such book won’t sell. People like the “easy way” – books that promise to give them a guaranteed spectacular income in a short period of time, without any large initial investment, original idea or hard work.

Is anyone able to count the massive number of schools of seduction created so far? I doubt that, but let’s try to name a few at least:

Neuro-Linguistic Seduction – some of you probably heard about Ross Jeffries. This guy is like the godfather of the seduction community. He didn’t only make a lot of cash. His works spawned a worldwide movement. Jeffries’ students and scrutineers have included such PUAs as David DeAngelo and Neil Strauss.

Ross Jeffries beats all PUAs when it comes to ridiculous ideas. He is the pioneer of NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming) in the seduction community. Insane as it sounds he actually believes you can hypnotize a woman during a conversation, and make her feel sexually attracted to you. Sure he elaborates it with some pseudoscientific explanations. His patterns include asking questions loaded with romantic or sexual allusions:

“Have you ever felt the sense of incredible connection…?”

Here is another more intense example of his “genius”:

“Jeffries also uses phonetic ambiguity. Sentence example: “Standing on the hill, I could see the river twinkling below me.” According to Jeffries, the words “below me” could be unconsciously interpreted as an embedded command to “blow me”. Especially, if at the point those words were spoken, you spread your hands palms up with fingers pointing down at the crotch area.”

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ross-Jeffries/15943661479?v=info

No wonder he is a former comedy writer. I got some more suggestions:

“I saw this HARDware ON the store shelf”

How ridiculous is this? Again, has any psychologist ever ran any experiments proving it? Jeffries believes that in order for a person to interpret any „linguistic pattern” they must first experience its content.

WTF!? If it was that easy he should teach entrepreneurs so they could let their business partners „experience the content” of the phrase „have you ever wanted to lend someone money so much you actually were begging that person to take your cash?” In a second everyone would be mind-fucking everyone with linguistic patterns. He should get a Nobel Prize, if it’s true. Let me call the Royal Academy, they certainly made a huge mistake not recognizing his achievements in the “field of everything.” Or maybe should I call the Ghostbusters cause this shit is spooky.

Some other gurus are laughing at Jeffries calling him Mine99, as he says all the techniques are based on ones he developed in 1999. Who cares who was first? It’s all bullshit anyway! It’s like a wacko in a mental hospital mocking some other wacko who thinks he is Napoleon calling him „Emperor of France” and the doctor says: „Hitler cut it out!”

I feel sorry for the guys who actually did reel off these pathetic lines. It reminds me of this scene from the movie “Anger Management” when the main character played by Adam Sandler is forced by his psychologist (Jack Nicholson) to approach a beautiful girl in a bar. He gets rejected, but Nicholson demands him to approach her again and declare: “I am sorry I was so rude before, but it’s difficult for me to express myself, when I’m on the verge of exploding in my pants.”

To his surprise Sandler finds out it worked. Only in the end Nicholson admits she is his former patient, and it was all arranged. So don’t try it, unless Jeffries assures you the girl works for him.

Neil Strauss, a.k.a. Style, the author of “the Game” also recommends NLP. He claims to have picked up many hotties. I don’t doubt that. The thing is that it does not prove that the techniques described in “The Game” really work! Neil Strauss could simply conquer the women he did, because they had found him “cute” from the very beginning. I stress the word “cute” not “handsome”. On the other hand there may be some bragging and exaggeration going on as well. Take for example the Youtube video “Neil Strauss picks up Jessica Alba on Jimmy Kimmel.” Oh really? Does Cash Warren know about that? Sorry, it was not Neil Strauss who picked her up, it was Style.

Seriously, someone believes Neil picked her up? Why? Because she was acting nice? What were you expecting? Jessica Alba to grumble in the studio “It doesn’t work at all, that’s nonsense Neil!” I expect something more than the usual number 5 smile she gives to every journalist before I believe he managed to seduce her. Maybe some rumors about a *date*? Photos of these two kissing? It happens all the time in Hollywood, right?

So the gamer Neil Strauss could have Jessica Alba at hello, but he decided to let it go because… Are you PUAs for real or am I being punk’d? Or maybe Jessica Alba was being punk’d on that show?

NLP techniques are highly controversial. After years of research there is no solid evidence. It is possible to change someone else’s perception of certain things, but it is very difficult. Hypnotists can do that, but they need their target’s full attention, and the effects of hypnosis usually last for a few minutes/hours. You may not permanently change nature. Sexual attraction is determined by genes and hormones that acted on the fetus. It is a drive. It is something programmed in our brains before we are born.

Take for instance this famous hypnotist Derren Brown. This master of NLP has his own TV show. You can find on YouTube various videos where he demonstrates his, I must admit, amazing skills. Unfortunately, when it comes to picking up women (“Derren Brown Pickup” video) he repeats the old trick mentioned in point 2. of section “How Come I Saw Seduction Working!?” The three girls are merely interested in HIS SKILLS! I believe that they honestly appreciated this interesting chat. But it’s not like all three of them were into Derren Brown as a man. There was a camera pointing at their faces, what do you expect? I would like to see a hidden cam video showing Derren making out with ALL THREE OF THEM. One girl is not enough, because by coincidence one of them could be attracted by Derren’s looks. By the way, can you see the similarity between Derren’s facial features and the face of the brunette sitting right next to him? I bet she genuinely felt attracted to him.

If you still feel NLP puts you in a better state of mind, use these techniques on yourself. You can use NLP to boost your self-confidence before you go out to meet women or when you feel nervous before the first date. Just don’t believe for a second you can control any woman with it. Because if it was true, then it rationally means that the guys who sell it can also control your mind.

“Cocky Comedy” – a concept created by David DeAngelo that says you can “create attraction” by acting cocky, if you mix it with some comedy. According to the author balance is the key. Too much comedy and you come across as a clown, too much cocky attitude and you are perceived as an arrogant jerk. Sure I can agree with it, in the sense that it is the key to being a cool person in life in general, but it won’t “create attraction” as DeAngelo frequently repeats. If the girl is not into you from the very beginning no amount of humor and confidence will convince her. She will only remember you as that cool guy she met at the party.

“Cool” is not a synonym of “sexually attractive”. Such theory must have been created by a guy. Being cocky and funny is how most guys define “cool”.

It would be OK if DeAngelo stopped here. But no, like all other Neo-Casanovas he makes an entire ideology out of it. He says that it will work like magic on your targets, and other people observing it won’t have a clue of what happened. This attitude will “create attraction.” Not it won’t. Studies mentioned in “Just Prove It!” tab deny it. I am also sure any fair experiment would deny it as well. This guy is so out of touch, sense of humor and self-confidence are not the core of sexual attraction! He also repeats that you shouldn’t be a wuss, an asskisser. Bravo DeEinsteinlo! I would have never figured it out myself.

Notice that there is a lot of guys out there who have no sense of humor at all, and they still DO pick up pretty girls. On the flip side, if that was true, all top comedians would be “chick magnets.” Many of them are womanizers. But not all of them, and those few womanizers can’t have ANY woman they want to. The rest of the best comedians are not smart enough to perceive that they shouldn’t come off as clowns in private life? You really believe that? It’s not like every famous comedian got an attractive wife. And even if most of them do, it doesn’t mean they are “chick magnets.” According to DeAngelo those guys should be picking up smoking hot women all the time. In other words their success rate should be higher than the success rate of a Hollywood stud. That’s different than simply finding one attractive woman and committing to her.

Notice that if seduction was effective, then any skilled actor should be a chick magnet. Someone managed to get an Oscar, but is not skilled enough to play the “game”? All you Hollywood artists heard that? These PUAs self-proclaimed Casanovas are questioning your competence! They promise their students that all they need is skills in order to get any woman they desire. So why there are so many great actors married to average looking women? I am not pointing fingers, cause I am a gentleman. You can check yourself on Imdb.com. A website advertised as the Internet’s largest movie database. True love I hear you saying. Before they fell in true love with this special one they could have easily dated like 10-20 attractive women, right? Well, Imdb.com does not confirm such allegations of hot babe abuse.

The Alpha Male Myth – also read the “Alpha-lames” tab.

The alpha male myth is a belief shared by many PUAs. I will write a few words about one of the most famous of them, and for sure one that catches most attention with his outfits. This guy wearing awkward clothes who calls himself Mystery reminds me of a comic book superhero. That would be “Captain Seduction”.

What’s interesting is that before Erik von Markovik became known as Mystery the pickup artist, he was a magician. Before performing a trick many magicians tell the audience a short story often involving legends, myths, history, culture. Mystery introduces his seduction tricks with a story about bear shit:

“Ever been camping? Well I was up in a forest up north and was hiking with some girlfriends of mine … and we came along some trail and there was shit on the path. My friends were like, “haaaa someone shit in the woods” and I said, “lets get the fuck out of here like NOW.”

They thought I was just scared of shit and I said, “Girls, you dont get it. This shit is still warm and its not human. Its bear shit. This is a big fucking bear. Look at the size of that turd.”

Seriously, I know that he was going somewhere with it:

“Notice it’s not sexual? Most hot girls get “sex-talk” right away from AFCs. NOT talking sex with them makes them question whether you are interested in them.”

No, it does not make them question it. Dude, women are not stupid. Even the dumbest ones, especially those pretty ones, after being approached so often in life instinctively know that you are not trying to discuss bear shit with them. I mean if you knew them for a while, they could believe you just want to tell a funny story. But when you meet them for the first time in your life, and out of the blue you hit on them with a bear shit routine – they know you just want to get into their pants. Option b) is that you are gay.

So don’t make a big deal out of it, and approach them anyway. On the other hand, pulling off the “me and my ex-girlfriend liked threesomes” routines that some crooks teach is creepy. I am not recommending it, just don’t try to hide the obvious, cause girls know what you are up to.

This is also connected with the concept of the “Bitch Shield”:

“Bitch Shields, sometimes also known as just “shields”, are what causes PUAs to feel that a woman seems unapproachable. She may be giving no AIs, or Anti-AIs and be moving away in proximity. Bitch Shields can also occur during a conversation, when the girl tries to blow the PUA out and acts generally rude, interrupting him or asking him to leave.

The concept of the shield is that most women are not normally mean or bitchy, but due to extreme circumstances, such as being in a high traffic night club and being hit on many times, women begin to adopt this persona over time. Usually, extremely attractive women (and some of those who are not) often pretend to be a ‘bitch’, to prevent an endless stream of no-game men (AKA AFCs) from hitting on them. Some women will enjoy the power rush from being a bitch while others are like that naturally. It is important for the seducer to recognize when a bitch shield is artificial and when the woman is truly a bitch.”

If she does not dig you, it is not because of the environment. If you met her as a volunteer on the “Safe the Rainforest Campaign” you would also hear a firm no. Only difference is that in a club after the 10th guy approached her she may be a little annoyed. While during the “Safe the Rainforest Campaign” you just gonna hear a polite “I just don’t feel that way about you.” But even in such a threatening environment as a bar full of drunken sailors, if the 11th guy who comes up to her happens to be “her type”, she will try to help him.

Bitch shield is another example of a concept that is tough to verify, and the alphalames know how to benefit from it. You would have to meet the same girl in another place, and pick her up to prove this concept works (plus, you would have to repeat this with a couple of girls to avoid coincidences, like: she rejected you in a club cause she was dating someone at that time, while when you met her latter they already broken up).

Let me spell it out for you: there is no such thing as a “bitch shield”, just like there is no such thing as seduction.

Every magic trick is based on the same rule – you need to distract the attention of the audience. Guess who is von Markovik’s audience? No, not the women he is hitting on. You are. He distracts your attention with all the pseudoscientific bullshit and some funny remarks, so you are not able to see the real process going on:

you eventually succeeded using his material because you hit on lots of girls. Most of them were not interested (this is the reality when you hit on HBs), they were only trying to be nice in response to your game. But that other tiny part found you attractive. And they felt this way FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. You could hit on her with all that crap you bought from Mystery or you could be a hawker trying to sell her a saucepan – doesn’t matter for her.

Apart from all the alpha male philosophy and NLP techniques, one of his weird ideas is what he calls “peacocking”:

“dressing to stand out, or to have an item of clothing or an accessory that looks interesting, allowing the girl to comment on it if she is interested in starting a conversation with you.”

The problem is that most women won’t start a conversation with you, all the more the prettiest ones. Plus, beginning a conversation is not a problem, so there is no reason to look like a Christmas tree. These advice are worthless.

What’s worse some of them may even backfire. The “Mystery Method” is not a mystery anymore. A lot of people recognize this weirdo. So if go approaching women with this big gay hut or huge goggles on your head, it’s gonna be like having a sign on your forehead that says: “Good evening, I am a pick-up hotshot who is able to control your mind.”

Another example can be this scene from one episode of “Keys to the VIP” (more about the show in “Mainstream Media Bought It”). One of the players wanted to copy the “I thought you work here” move from the movie “Hitch”. In the movie the main character played by Will Smith approaches a hot girl standing by the bar surrounded by men. He asks her to bring a couple of drinks to his table handing in a few bucks. Before she manages to reply, he leaves to his table pretending he doesn’t hear her complaints. So she follows him and says that she doesn’t work in the bar. Hitch apologizes, in the end he admits he knew that she doesn’t work in the bar, and only did it to get her away from all those dudes. She asks “why would you wanna do that”, and they end up staring at each other meaningfully.

Reality check, this is what happens when you try to pull off this kind of stuff in real life: in one “Keys to the VIP” episode, one player repeated this move. Only the girl just ignored him. This is a red light for someone guided by reason. But no, he just followed pick up routines. So he went back to tell her he thought she works there. She replied that this is the move from the movie “Hitch”. Pathetic.

Doc Love’s prescription – the only player that got it right!

“I get tons of email questions and all I read is how much the guy likes her but she is not responding. Forget her. She has to like you from the beginning”.

This is what differs Doc Love from other authors. You can find his stuff on Askmen.com. He was capable to recognize that women have their types! She has to “like you from the beginning”, otherwise you have no chances. This guy is honest enough not to promise his students that they will be able to seduce ANY woman they want after buying his stuff. I should not call him a PUA, it would be contrary to the definition of seduction. He is more like a pick up adviser. He does not make a whole new ideology out of his advice. Doc uses the term “Interest Level”. A girl must have at least 51% Interest Level in you, so you can start hitting on her. He says:

“I wish women wore their IL (Interest Levels) on their foreheads so you could look up and see 49% and walk away.”

Maybe they do Doc? I mean not only on the forehead, but on the entire face. Considering all the studies on facial resemblance in romantic couples, maybe we men sometimes just have problems with “reading it”?

The Mirror Image Seduction School – also known as “social mimicry”, based on the psychological concept that the key to socializing is the subtle, flattering art of imitation. We all like people who are similar to us. Women sure follow this general rule. This seduction school teaches how to promptly detect characteristic behaviors of your “target”, and act in a similar way without going into mockery, so you can connect on the subconscious level.

Ah no, wait! I made up this last one. As you see a wanna-be-casanova’s imagination is limitless. They even came up with such thing as Kinesthetic Seduction – seducing women by touch. Really, I didn’t invent this one!

There is one PUA I forgot to mention above – Paul Janka.

Not because of any particular techniques he teaches. What is interesting about this guy is that he is the only playa I have heard of who reveals his success rate. Correction! Not even he reveals his success rate, because he reveals only the number-to-lay ratio. So we still don’t know what is his approach-to-lay ratio, we don’t know how many women he approached to get the phone numbers that lead him to nailing those chicks in only 9,8% cases! If you have read my website you know why “success rate” is such an important term. All other PUAs base their theories on anecdotes, not revealing their success rate or even bragging they can get any woman they want  - 100% success rate! Janka is at least honest enough to admit that 9 out of 10 times he fails even when he manages to get her phone number:

“No matter how confident you are, or how solid your game is, there will always be flakes, gold diggers, and uncontrollable circumstances. The strongest approach and the smoothest escalation on earth won’t work every time on every girl. Even Paul Janka only gets a number-to-lay rate of 9.8%”

Again, as you see from the above quote this is a number-to-lay rate, consequently his approach-to-lay ratio must be EVEN SMALLER! But let’s assume hypothetically that 9,8% is his approach-to-lay ratio, even if that was true, it would  still be a very low success rate considering the promises of the seduction community.

Reading the below part bear in mind that it is based on a very favorable to Janka hypothetic assumption. In real life the odds are even worse!

So let me ask all PUA addicts here:

Who were those 90,2% encountered in NYC by Janka? All gold diggers? All already taken? Only 9,8% single women in Big Apple? What Janka meant by “uncontrollable circumstances”? If a girl likes someone, you bet she is going to stop for a 1-minute chit-chat after being approached, and give him her phone number, she is not gonna get fired for being 1 minute late to work.

Isn’t it more probable that those 90,2% were simply females who had other genetic type than Janka? This is another example of what I proved on this website numerous times – “genes” are not the same thing as beauty (Janka looks like a supermodel). That’s why an average looking Joe is sometimes able to pick up a hottie. If you have read my website you know why “success rate” is such an important term. All other span style=”mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold;” lang=”EN-US”span style=”mso-ansi-language: EN-US;” lang=”EN-US”PUAs base their theories on anecdotes, not revealing their success rate or even bragging they can get any woman they want (1strong style=”mso-bidi-font-weightstrong/p: normal;”00% success rate!). Her brain subconsciously “detected” similar genes in his facial features. Of course he, all other people around, and most likely even the girl herself, won’t contemplate genes. They will simply come to the conclusion: this guy is either rich or he’s got game!

Janka is also the only (apart from Doc Love) who admits that “dating is a numbers game” – the notion that I emphasized numerous times.

“Paul Janka’s philosophy on dating: it’s a numbers game. And the odds are in your favor.”

“Formula method is it’s largely applicable to day game in big cities. Janka is from New York, and his whole approach presupposes encountering a lot of women just by being out and walking around.”

Doesn’t it contradict the very idea of seduction? What “numbers game”? These alpha-lames claim only skills and status are responsible for attraction! The above quote is of course incorrect in the part saying that “odds are in your favor.” If so, why Janka’s success rate is only 9,8%? (in real life a lot lower!)

So you can look as good as Paul Janka, and approach women as confidently as he does, and more than 90,2% (because of the above assumption in favor of Janka) of the chicks will still reject you because of that voice deep down in their subconscious whispering “he is not my type.” Which in fact means “our genes are not compatible.”

Now, let’s travel to PUA fantasy land, where sexual attraction is all about skills and status. How come a guy like Paul Janka have the success rate of only 9,8%?! This fact alone shows that there is clearly something wrong with seduction theories.

One PUA replied to the above argumentation saying that 9,8% is a lot because “it is only 0,2 below the law of averages.” He of course forgot Janka approached thousands of women. He also explained that even the best salesmen don’t beat 10% – this would be an “act of God.”

This is why making analogies often leads you to absurd conclusions:

Yes, a success rate (among pretty girls) higher than 10% is an act of God, but not because of the law of averages in the sense this guy explained (if you hit on an sufficiently large amount like Janka), but because women have their types. Those types are about things you are born with, so yes the law of averages says the probability of finding more than 10% of such females would be like winning the lottery, provided the sample is large enough, and is randomly picked like Janka does.

For a salesman 10% is a lot because obviously not everyone wants to buy a frying pan from you. Even the people who go to the car dealer have their limitations: some go there just to look around, even the best salesman won’t convince them because for ex. they don’t have the money etc.

Now, what are the limitations of a straight single girl, IN ACCORDANCE with seduction theories? None! Why wouldn’t any straight single girl buy Janka’s “product”?

So, IF seduction exist, IF women don’t have their types, Janka’s success rate should be = 100% minus the percentage of lesbians and the percentage of taken females and let’s add some small percentage for really rare cases like crazy women. Do the math, it should certainly be more than 9,8%! (remember you again in real life it is an even lower ratio than 9,8%!) Now read, “Her Type” section : )

An acquaintance of Sleazy I suppose did an experiment just politely complimenting and then asking women out, merely trying to pretend to be an average joe just being super-average and using nothing special.

He got roughly the same percentages as Paul Janka.

Just to re-iterate, these same percentages have been confirmed in a few other places.

The AWAW book suggested this method as long as 6-8 years ago, it was the first ebook in the community that said you don’t need to overcomplicate, it shared these same ratios as well, and most anyone who tried it found the same results roughly.

Me and my friends were “awaw guys” for like a year or two, and we had the same percentages as well (roughly).

Now… He says “I was surprised by how big the results were, but I still prefer my agressive game method bla bla bla”…

That’s surprising to me, since I’ve never seen anyone even claim to get higher than these ratios. So if this super-simple average-joe method gets the highest-ratio possible, what does he mean?

This is a bit off topic, but if you enjoyed this website chances are you are also going to like „Myths, Lies and Downright Stupidity: Get Out the Shovel – Why Everything You Know is Wrong” by John Stossel. The book is just what you could expect from the title. The author rips apart myths from different areas. The book covers topics from politics, economy and law, to science, health, and consumer issues. I am aware not all anti-gamers share Stossel’s libertarian views, yet the book is not only about abstract deliberations on politics or economy. It also includes reports on issues that can influence your day-to-day choices, such as – whether it makes sense to pay extra for the best coffee brands, car fuel or dog food.
